Medicaid

Washington Apple Health (Medicaid)

Our plan offers a range of physical and behavioral health benefits. View the benefits below to see all that it offers. It's for people who meet income and eligibility requirements for Apple Health (Medicaid)  We serve pregnant individuals, children and young adults to age 21, families and adults.

Washington Apple Health (Medicaid) Behavioral Health Services Only (BHSO)

Our plan offers a range of behavioral health benefits. These include mental health and substance use disorder treatment services. View the benefits below to see all that it offers. It's for people who meet income and eligibility requirements for Apple Health (Medicaid) but receive physical health services some other way.

Dual Special Needs plans

Dual Special Needs plans (also called Dual Health plans or D-SNPs for short) are for people who have both Medicaid and Medicare. Dual plans cover most doctor visits, hospital stays and prescription drugs. They offer many extra benefits beyond those you get with either Original Medicare or Medicaid.

Individual & Family ACA plans

UnitedHealthcare offers Individual & Family ACA plans in Washington. They’re designed to give you the coverage you need without breaking the bank.

Choose from plans in the Bronze, Silver and Gold metal levels. They each come with a variety of benefits, including reliable support from our customer service experts.

Take action to prevent the flu. A seasonal flu shot has been shown to prevent flu illnesses, doctor visits and hospitalizations, and can be lifesaving for children. UnitedHealthcare plans cover pneumonia, influenza and shingles shots.

WA Apple Health Expansion plan

Apple Health Expansion offers medical care, behavioral health care, and prescription drug benefits, at no cost to you. You may be eligible for Apple Health Expansion if you are:

  • Washington resident ages 19 years or older
  • Not eligible for other state or federal health programs based on immigration status.
  • Under 138 % of poverty level
  • Not pregnant

Healthy First Steps®

Build a healthy future for you and your baby and earn great rewards with Healthy First Steps. Our program will help you take the right steps to keep you and your baby healthy. Plus you can earn $20 just for signing up. We will help you:

  • Choose a pregnancy provider and a pediatrician (child’s doctor)
  • Schedule visits and exams and arrange rides to your visits
  • Earn rewards for going to visits throughout your pregnancy and baby’s first 15 months of life

Language help

You can get information in another language. Just ask. We can connect you with interpreter services which covers more than 170 launguages. 

Our provider network includes many doctors who are multilingual. Our provider directory shows which languages doctors speak. 

You can also get information in large print, Braille or audio files on a CD or flash drive. We can also assist with interpreter services, including American Sign Language.

24-hr. Nurse Hotline

Medical questions and situations come at inconvenient times. Members or their caregivers can call 1-877-370-4009, TTY 711 to speak with a registered nurse anytime 24/7 to get answers to any health-related question or concern.

Our nurses will:

  • Listen to symptoms
  • Help with self-care
  • Advise you about getting care at a doctor visit or an urgent care center
  • Help you know when to go to the emergency room

Boys & Girls Club

The Boys & Girls Clubs in Washington give kids a safe and comfortable place to spend their free time.

If your child is a member (ages 6-17), they are eligible for a free annual Boys & Girls Club membership at participating clubs.

Apple Health (Medicaid) Plan

You may qualify for no-cost or low-cost Apple Health (Medicaid) coverage if you're pregnant, have children or live with a disability and meet income and eligibility requirements. In some cases, other adults also may qualify. It's important to know that Medicaid rules and coverage differ from state to state.

Dual special needs plans (D-SNP)

Dual Special Needs Plans (also called dual health plans or D-SNPs for short) are for people who get both Apple Health (Medicaid) and Medicare. Dual plans cover doctor visits, hospital stays and prescription drugs. They offer more benefits and extras than Original Medicare. You’ll keep all your Apple Health (Medicaid) benefits too.
