What is the over-the-counter (OTC) benefit?

For eligible members with UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage plans, credits will be loaded to your UnitedHealthcare UCard® to help pay for covered over-the-counter (OTC) products. For select plans, members can also use their credits to help pay for healthy food or eligible utility bills.

How and when do I get my benefit credits?

Credits are loaded to your UCard either quarterly or monthly, depending on the type of plan you have. Here’s how it works:

How can I shop in a store using my UCard?

You can shop at any of the 55,000 retail locations, including Walmart, CVS and more. For a full list of participating stores, sign in and visit the store finder on the UCard Hub.

At checkout, there are 2 ways to use your UCard:

Simply swipe your card or scan the barcode
Scan your digital UCard barcode in the UnitedHealthcare app (available at most store locations)

You can also pay eligible utility bills in-store at your local Walmart MoneyCenter, if utilities are covered by your benefit.

How can I shop online with my UCard benefit credit?

To shop online, visit the UCard Hub by signing in to your member site or opening the UnitedHealthcare app. There, it’s easy to search for covered products by category, brand or price. Choose the products you’d like, then follow the prompts to complete your purchases using your credit.

To pay an eligible utility bill, choose Bill Pay and follow the prompts to add your utility company and make a payment.

UnitedHealthcare’s been great for me. I got a UCard and I love a UCard. It helps a lot. I can buy groceries, aspirin. I can get whatever I need. After I got the UnitedHealthcare app I go straight to the app and just walk up to the product itself and scan it. If it accepted it do and if don’t it don't. With the UCard it has to be something over the counter. It has to be something for your health needs wholesome, something like vegetables, fruit, milk, juice. In that order. It’s nice. It’s convenient.
