Special Enrollment Period (SEP) eligibility

Some people may be eligible to enroll in an ACA Marketplace plan outside of the annual open enrollment period (OEP) if they have a qualifying life event. These include things like having or adopting a baby, getting married, turning 26, getting divorced or a change in employment status.

Medicaid renewal

If you’re working with someone who no longer qualifies for Medicaid coverage, you may be able to help them find a new health plan. Losing Medicaid coverage is considered a qualifying life event, which means they may be eligible for a Special Enrollment Period for an ACA Marketplace plan.

Help consumers choose and manage their ACA Marketplace plan

Offer guidance on choosing an ACA Marketplace plan, and help members understand the resources available with their plan.

Picking an ACA Marketplace plan

Within each of our 5 ACA Marketplace plan types (Essential, Virtual, Value, Advantage and Copay Focus), plans are organized into categories called metal levels. These metal levels — Bronze, Silver and Gold — determine the cost of care and the amount of coverage. They don’t impact the quality or type of care provided. A wide range of UnitedHealthcare ACA Marketplace plans are available in these 3 metal levels.
