We offer many plans to help Rhode Islanders get healthy. And stay healthy. In addition to our Medicaid plans, our Dual Special Needs Plan is for those who qualify for both Medicaid and Medicare.

Plus, we offer one of the largest provider networks in Rhode Island. This gives you many options to choose the providers and specialists that fit your health care needs.

Medicaid

UnitedHealthcare Rhody Health Partners

UnitedHealthcare® of New England's Medicaid health plan is accredited by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA).

Rhody Health Partners (RHP) is Rhode Island's Medicaid managed care plan for eligible adults with disabilities who are 21 years or older have an option to enroll in a participating Rhody Health Partners health plan. Rhody Health Partners members can use the large network of doctors specialists, hospitals and other healthcare providers who are part of the UnitedHealthcare of New England network

UnitedHealthcare Rhody Health Partners ACA Adult Expansion

The Affordable Care Act (ACA) expanded health coverage to certain adults age 19 or older and under 65.  The UnitedHealthcare Rhody Health Partners ACA Adult Expansion plan is for  certain Adults aged 19-64 with no dependent children with an income at or below 133 percent Federal Poverty Level -in other words, You have to earn less than $15,654 per year or earn less than $1,305 per month and are a United States citizen or a legal permanent resident under 65 meeting income eligibility guidelines.

Children with Special Health Care Needs

Children with Special Health Care Needs (CSN) is Rhode Island's Medicaid managed care plan for Children with a disability or chronic condition and they are determined eligible for: Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Katie Beckett or Adoption Subsidy through the Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF). When eligible for Medicaid, parents or guardians are then given a choice of enrollment in a participating health plan. Children who live in an institutional facility are excluded from health plan enrollment. In those situations, children will be enrolled in traditional Medicaid Fee-For-Service.

Children with Special Healthcare Needs may qualify for RIte Care under UnitedHealthcare Community Plan. The Department of Human Services will enroll Children with Special Healthcare Needs who are eligible for Medicaid.

UnitedHealthcare RIte Care

UnitedHealthcare® of New England's Medicaid health plan is accredited by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA).

RIte Care is Rhode Island's Medicaid managed care program for families on the RI Works Program and eligible uninsured pregnant women, children, and parents. Members enroll in a participating health plan. UnitedHealthcare RIte Care members can use the large network of doctors specialists, hospitals and other healthcare providers who are part of the UnitedHealthcare of New England network.

Dual Special Needs plans

Dual Special Needs plans (also called Dual Health plans or D-SNPs for short) are for people who have both Medicaid and Medicare. Dual plans cover most doctor visits, hospital stays and prescription drugs. They offer many extra benefits beyond those you get with either Original Medicare or Medicaid.

As Low as $0 Dual Special Needs Health plan*

A dual special needs plan (DSNP) is a type of health insurance plan. It’s for people who have both Medicaid and Medicare. If that’s you, you’re “dual-eligible.” 

* Your costs may be as low as $0, depending on your level of Medicaid eligibility.

For Medicaid members 18 years and older, this all-in-one fitness benefit can help you work out, when, where and how you want to.

  • Access to many gym locations like Anytime Fitness, Planet Fitness, and LA Fitness
  • As of January 2024, families will have access to YMCA Family Memberships at no cost
  • The chance to visit a different gym each day if you want to
  • A variety of online workout plans, or create your own
  • Explore thousands of online classes and workout plans from the comfort of your home

Tobacco is bad for you. Quitting is good for you. We can help.

Get coaching and online support to help you quit tobacco. It’s one of the best things you can do for your health.

Get assistance deciding which type of nicotine substitute or medication is right for you. All at no cost to you.

Behavioral Health Services

Behavioral health is as important as physical health. That’s why we have coverage for both.

Required care is 100% covered with no co-pay, including testing and diagnosis, behavioral therapy and medication.

Healthy weight. Getting exercise.

Losing weight does not have to be hard. 

Getting more exercise is one of the best ways. Try to get 60 minutes or more of exercise every day. It doesn’t have to mean doing hard exercises or going to the gym every day. Just move your body. Here are some ideas:
