You can search the online provider directory or download a copy of the directory below. Note: the provider and other information found in online search is updated more often than the downloadable directory. 

Search online for a Network Provider

Your Primary Care Provider (PCP)

Your main doctor, nurse practitioner/physician assistant is called a Primary Care Provider (PCP). When you see the same PCP over time, it’s easier to develop a relationship with them. Each family member can have their own PCP, or you may all choose to see the same person. You will see your PCP for:

  • Routine care, including yearly checkups
  • Coordinate your care with a specialist
  • Treatment of your chronic health care needs and any changes that occur in your health
  • Other health concerns

Know your options

You can choose between many types of network providers for your PCP. Some types of PCPs include: 

  • Family doctor (also called a general practitioner) — cares for children and adults 
  • Gynecologist (GYN) — cares for women
  • Internal medicine doctor (also called an internist) — cares for adults
  • Nurse Practitioner (NP) — cares for children and adults
  • Obstetrician (OB) — cares for pregnant women
  • Pediatrician — cares for children
  • Physician Assistant (PA) — cares for children and adults

Interpreter services and language assistance

Many of our Member Services employees speak more than one language. If you can’t connect with one who speaks your language, you can use an interpreter to help you speak with Member Services.

Many of our network providers also speak more than one language. If you see one who doesn’t speak your language, you can use our interpreter or sign language services to help you during your appointment. Arrange for your interpreter services at least 72 hours before your appointment.

Changing your PCP

It’s important that you like and trust your PCP. You can change PCPs at any time. Call Member Services and we can help you make the change.

Emergency and Urgent Care

The Provider Search Tool provides a list of many urgent care centers that you can use. You can use these centers when it’s not a life-threatening situation, but you are sick or need medical care right away and your PMP is not available. Urgent care centers are usually open in the evenings and on weekends.

Emergency rooms (ERs) are for major injuries or sudden sicknesses that may be life threatening and need medical care right away. In an emergency, you should call 911 or go to an ER immediately. If you use the ER for a reason that is not an emergency, you might owe a $3.00 copay. Your member handbook includes details about how to get approval to visit the ER.

The New Mexico (PDL) Preferred Drug List is a list of covered prescription drugs and drugs needing a prior approval. Prior approval is when your doctor must call us before giving you the prescription to see if we will cover it.

The PDL is available in other languages, in large print and Braille. If you have questions or need an alternative format, please call Member Services.

Note that many on our Member Service team speak several languages. We also have an interpreter service, which supports more than 240 languages over the phone. We also support American Sign Language.

Behavioral health is about how you feel and act. It is also called mental health. Your mental health is very important. All New Mexico Turquoise Care members can get mental health and addiction services without a referral. This includes:

  • office visits
  • inpatient and outpatient services
    • See the member handbook for details.

While you are able to get behavioral health services without a referral from your PMP. Sometimes, it makes sense to talk to your PMP about any behavioral health problems you believe you may have. That way, your PMP can help to refer you to a behavioral health provider that works with us. If you want to find a behavioral health provider on your own, you can search for one at any time and make an appointment.

Substance Use Disorder Services 

Members can get residential treatment if they are getting help due to alcohol or drug use. This includes overnight stays in a facility. The member’s Care Coordinator can help answer questions or explain any limits or prior approval needed.
