Emergency and Urgent Care

The Provider Search Tool provides a list of many urgent care centers that you can use. You can use these centers when it’s not a life-threatening situation, but you are sick or need medical care right away and your PMP is not available. Urgent care centers are usually open in the evenings and on weekends.

Emergency rooms (ERs) are for major injuries or sudden sicknesses that may be life threatening and need medical care right away. In an emergency, you should call 911 or go to an ER immediately. If you use the ER for a reason that is not an emergency, you might owe a $3.00 copay. Your member handbook includes details about how to get approval to visit the ER.

Behavioral health is about how you feel and act. It is also called mental health. Your mental health is very important. All Indiana PathWays for Aging members can get mental health and addiction services without a referral. This includes:

  • office visits
  • inpatient and outpatient services.
    • See the member handbook for details.
