EMH Regional Medical Center Earns UnitedHealth Premium Cardiac Specialty Center Designation
CLEVELAND (April 10, 2008) – UnitedHealthcare, a UnitedHealth Group (NYSE: UNH) company, has designated Elyria, Ohio-based EMH Regional Medical Center as a UnitedHealth Premium Cardiac Specialty Center.
To achieve Premium Cardiac Specialty Center designation, EMH Regional Medical Center has met rigorous quality criteria based on nationally recognized medical standards and expert guidance from industry-leading organizations such as the National Committee on Quality Assurance, American College of Cardiology and The Ambulatory Care Quality Alliance. With the addition of EMH Regional Medical Center, there are now 27 hospitals in Ohio that have received the designation.
The UnitedHealth Premium Specialty Center designation program gives UnitedHealthcare health plan participants information about, and access to, cardiac hospitals that meet rigorous quality criteria. The designation is based on detailed information about specialized training, practice capabilities and proficiencies and is designed to help consumers make informed decisions about where to seek cardiac care.
